The upper hand in the V6 era


THE IMPROVEMENTS MADE AFTER 2016 IN THE                                  1.6 TURBO V6 ERA.

The year 2016... What does it translate in terms of Formula1? What’s gonna be all that different? So, for starters, The F1 cars are gonna be a bit quicker and definitely louder, by 12% to be specific. Though being just a minor update from 2015, It'll make a significant difference to the sport.
Apart from that, the new engine regulations could level the playing field which generally means that the competition will be much closer and tighter. The lower teams also have a chance to catch up as all have been allowed to develop on their cars through engine tokens as the season progresses. Unlike last year, where Mercedes-Benz dominated the field both with their works cars and customer cars, This year we could expect a lot more mid-field play and battles at the top. Also, this year similarly is full of young talents like Pascal Wehrlein and Rio Haryanto racing for Manor Racing team. The last year’s rookies are also worth looking for as they have gained the necessary experience required in order to push, be more brave and to take risks at key moments. Drivers like Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz Jr and Felipe Nasr could be full of surprise again this year. Even the new reserve drivers bring in new sort of energy and charisma into the team. But, the biggest change in the driver line-up has to be Pastor Maldonaldo missing out from F1. Renault finally  removed him and chose Joylon Palmer, former GP3 champion and Kevin Magnussen, ex-Mclaren driver.
Now, On the races part, There will be 21 races this year with the inclusion of Baku,Azerbaijin and the return of German grand prix which will take place in Hockenheim. So, this year F1 would be hosting more than 20 races per season which is after quite some time. It was designed in a way that it wouldn't conflict with WEC.
As for the cars and teams, the new team is creating a big buzz among fanatics. Infact, the last time a US -based team took part in a grand prix was 30 years ago,this could atttract an entirely new kind of audience. The rest of the teams have worked hard over the winter break to improve their cars. Especially, we heard a lot from Mclaren-Honda as they stated that "We've worked 24-hr shifts and even refused Christmas-New year holidays to completely re-design our car". They were the first team to start the new trend of posting the start-up sound of their car on social media. One if keen could clearly hear the completely new turbocharger and wastegates and the team enginerers have reportedly got 223 bhp (including 163 bhp from ERS) more from the outgoing 2015 car. Hence, they could definitely stage a comeback with the MP4-31. The other team which was creating a stir among the crowd was Ferrari, they tried to beat Mercedes-Benz last year but couldn't do so because the car still lacked perfection in some areas. This year, Ferrari have worked hard as well in making their package more compact and changing to push-rod suspension in favour of both driver's liking after a period of four years. They also posted the sound of their car and launched their car on the internet naming it SF-16H. Redbull car's livery with TAG HEUER displayed as a highlight while Renault RS16 and Williams FW38 have launched their cars. The rest have not launched their's yet and are still busy prepping the cars for the season. Williams Racing said that they have improved their slow corner handling issues and Renault stated that they can show pace only from second half of 2016.
  As for the direct changes from FIA, They have introduced a new Ultra-soft compound marked in purple. This will encourage the teams interms of strategy and choices. The other tires will still be available as before. The other motorsports such as LeMans, DTM, etc have certainly caught up and F1 was seen to be a bit dull and boring. So, They have concenrated in making the sport very interesting and exciting.
 The major changes are coming.Meanwhile, what they have done is just update the sport a bit till it gets a fresh face, very soon!

RECAP: ARJUN MAINI’S 2018 SEASON

With the 2018 FIA F2 championship underway, seven rounds later, George Russel, driving for ART grand prix team leads the driver’s championship by 37 points followed by Lando Norris, Carlin Racing team.   This year, Arjun Maini, the 21-year old Indian was announced as the lead development driver for Haas Racing from F1.
